Description
A sweet and chunky jam made with fresh apples and rich caramel, perfect for toast, pastries, or as a topping.
Ingredients

- 4 cups chopped apples (about 4–5 medium apples)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Combine chopped apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, water, and lemon juice in a large pot.
- Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender and the mixture has thickened. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
- Stir in heavy cream and butter until fully incorporated and melted.
- Continue to simmer for another 5-10 minutes, stirring, until the jam reaches your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before jarring.
Notes
- For a smoother jam, you can use an immersion blender to lightly process the cooked apples.
- Ensure your jars and lids are sterilized before filling.
