- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra moisture, you can add 1/4 cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt to the batter.
- To prevent the top from browning too quickly, loosely tent the loaf pan with aluminum foil during the last 20-30 minutes of baking.
- You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a heartier bread.
