Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use San Marzano tomatoes.
- Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
