- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- While noodles cook, brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet with the beef. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- In a bowl, whisk together condensed cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef and vegetables. Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss to coat with the stroganoff sauce.
- Serve immediately.

- For a richer flavor, you can use beef broth instead of milk.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
