Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. While noodles cook, brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet with the beef. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together condensed cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef and vegetables. Stir to combine.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss to coat with the stroganoff sauce.
