- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the ground beef. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the green onions.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
- Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
