Description

A quick and easy Mongolian Ground Beef recipe ready in 15 minutes. Perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the ground beef. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the green onions.
  5. Serve immediately over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
