Description
A creamy and tangy dip featuring crispy fried pickles, perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1/4 cup pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup dill pickle spears, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- While the dip chills, prepare the fried pickles. In a shallow dish, whisk together flour, salt, and pepper.
- In another shallow dish, place the beaten eggs.
- In a third shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- Dip each pickle slice into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Next, dip the floured pickle slice into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Finally, press the egg-coated pickle slice into the panko breadcrumbs, coating evenly. Place breaded pickles on a plate.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully fry the breaded pickle slices in batches, for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve the chilled dip with the warm fried pickles for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- You can bake the pickles instead of frying for a lighter option. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
