Description

A simple and delicious pasta dish featuring garlic and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter.
  5. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
  6. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
  7. Toss until the cheese is melted and coats the pasta.
  8. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • You can substitute other cheeses like Pecorino Romano for a sharper taste.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better than pre-shredded.
