Tender and flavorful mushroom-topped hamburger steaks.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into four patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove patties from skillet and set aside.
- Add mushrooms and onion to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes.
- Return patties to the skillet and spoon the mushroom mixture over them.
- Simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, you can add a tablespoon of butter with the mushrooms.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or your favorite side dish.
