Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in vanilla extract and eggs one at a time.
  5. Stir in the instant vanilla pudding mix until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges and still slightly soft in the center.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For chewier cookies, use more brown sugar than granulated sugar.
  • Add nuts along with the chocolate chips for extra flavor and crunch.
