Description

Ingredients

  • 23 pounds pork shoulder (Boston butt)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the sliced onion over the pork.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
  6. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce.
  8. Serve hot on buns or as desired.
