- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For softer cookies, bake for a shorter time.
- For crisper cookies, bake for a longer time.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for easier handling.
- Decorate with frosting and sprinkles once completely cooled.
